Playing some tunes that remind me of my first Defcon. This is for the first time Defcon has added electronic music to the conference to light people up. Various electronic musicians and producers from around the globe will be joining the event named “Night Of The Ninjas.” Defcon has scheduled the whole event starting on Saturday, August 13. This year in August Defcon will be hosting an electronic music event at Caesars Forum Chillout Ballroom and Hallway Monitor Party. Defcon has also mentioned that illegal activities like hacking government websites or talking about it can land an attendee banished from the conference forever. The attendee can not use substances or illegal drugs, minors have to be accompanied by parent(s), and any sort of illegal activities are completely restricted. The term DEF CON is taken from a move named WarGames referencing the US Armed Forces Defense Readiness Condition (DEFCON) where Las Vegas was selected as a nuclear target.Īccording to the conference rule, any kind of physical violence and harassment is strictly prohibited. Almost 100 people gathered and formed the foundation of the DEF CON along with Jeff. However, Jeff’s friend couldn’t arrive at the farewell party and instead of calling it off, he hosted the party inviting other hacker friends to Las Vegas. Defcon or DEF CON was created in 1993 by Jeff Moss and hosted as a farewell party to his fellow hacker and member of ‘Platinum Net,’ a hacking network based in Canada.
